Sunday Funday: Ken Valdez Band with Corey Medina & Brothers
Ken Valdez has used the word “Mestizo” to describe himself. Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, this blues/rock artist relocated to Minneapolis and has become a mainstay in the Minnesota scene as well as a seasoned touring artist. Valdez combines elements of blues, rock, funk, and Latin to create a sound truly his own. With his gritty, soulful voice, soaring guitar and rock solid band, his live shows are fun, emotive and powerful proving once again that Music Is A Healer.
Corey Medina is a native American Blues/Rock artist from Shiprock, New Mexico. Shiprock is on the Navajo tribal nation where Corey was born and raised. He moved to Northern Minnesota in 2012 and formed his band Corey Medina and Brothers which consists of Medina as well as Eric Sundeen and Gary Broste. This dynamic band sets out to spread light to dark and hope to the hopeless with their raw, soulful, intimate music, and stage presence.
