Three triple-a certificates
Bloomington has joined an elite few cities nationwide with three triple-A bond ratings from Standard and Poor's, Moody's and Fitch.

2012 Property tax and budget information

  • Tax levy and budget hearing: A public hearing on the tax levy and budget will be held December 5 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Civic Plaza.

The Finance Department provides financial management for the City and Port Authority and support services to City departments. The department also oversees support services which account for the telephone, mail and print shop operations.

City bond sales and ratings

2011 City Bond Sales

The City had three recent bond sales:

  • $7,585,000 General Obligation Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund Bonds of 2011, Series 45;
  • $2,180,000 General Obligation Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund Refunding Bonds, Series 2011A;
  • $3,125,000 Taxable General Obligation Tax Increment Refunding Bonds, Series 2011B.

2011 City Bond Ratings

The City's recent bond sales were rated by three credit rating agencies: Moody's Investors Service, Standard & Poors and Fitch. The City received the highest rating possible (Triple A) from all three agencies. Listed below are the rating agencies' reports.
